Mulligans Sports Bar
For the next few months  we have decided to write a bunch of local restaurant and bar reviews in San Clemente. Things that we will talk about of course will be food, atmosphere, activities at the restaurant or bar, friendliness of staff, prices and deals during the week. Full disclosure we are pretty easy going and unless something is glaringly terrible we are not going to mention it. The most important thing for us is being able to go out and have a good time and meet nice people. We are not the type to complain because we had to wait 5 minutes to get seated, there wasn’t enough ice in our water or that are beer wasn’t cold enough. The Daniel Team Mulligans San Clemente The first place we want to talk about is Mulligans Sports Bar, the address is 1401,Calle Valle in San Clemente . We have been here a handful of times and we can honestly say that we always have fun going here. Common phrases for this type of place would be dive bar or locals bar. We enjoy the atmosphere here, everybody seems friendly, willing to talk, it’s a good size and doesn’t get overly crowded.Pool Tables Mulligans Sports Bar Mulligans Sports Bar has a great staff, usually one bartender and a cook in the back. I can’t say enough about the bartender named Shelly. She always has a smile on her face and even when the bar is very busy she seems to take care of all patrons very well. She is quick to get your drinks and put your food orders in and always does it with a smile. Mulligans Sports Bar Menu San Clemente In regards to the food it is actually pretty good for being a small bar with one cook. I will add a picture of the menu to give you an idea of the type of food they serve. Tuesday nights is a great night to go for Taco Tuesday. Tacos range from a dollar to around $3.Tacos are not only  good but they don’t skimp on what they put on them. Two or three tacos and your full. We have not tried everything on the menu but the burgers taste like their homemade and not store bought. My wife loves tuna melts and it seems every time she goes that’s what she wants and yes it is very very good. Mulligans Sports Bar Menu San Clemente If you enjoy playing a game of pool or ping pong this is also a great place to go. They have around 5 to 6 pool tables and the best thing of all is that it is free. Rarely have we gone to a bar where you can go and have a drink and play free pool. They also have a pool league you can join. There is also a fun game that they play with dice. It is around a dollar per roll and you have a cup of 6 dice. There is a limit of 2 rolls per visit. The pot grows and grows until somebody can roll all dice with the same number and they win the pot. One lady won over $1,100 playing. If you like Sunday football, it is also a fun place to go watch the game, they have 6-7 TV’s behind the bar and last time we went we met some really nice locals and talked sports and had a few beers. Another thing that Christie has mentioned about Mulligans Sports Bar that she really likes is that she always feels safe at the bar. She tells me she would have no problem going there with a couple of her friends even later at night. So there you have it folks, I suggest you check Mulligans Sports Bar Out, if you haven’t already. Hope to see you there so we can buy you a beer and talk about our wonderful town of San Clemente
San Clemente Outlets
For those of you who have not had the chance to visit the San Clemente Outlets I thought I would give a quick overview and add in a few pictures that may be helpful to future shoppers . One thing I really liked about the San Clemente Outlets is that the complex is dog friendly. (if you hate dogs you might want to stay away) For those of you looking for a different place to  walk with your dog here is another option. It’s always fun  to bring your dog  to a place and see all the reactions and interactions between the doggies. It was perfect for us, Molly and I walked and the wife shopped.San Clemente Outlets In regards to the actual shopping & store critique at the San Clemente Outlets I might not be the best person to comment on this; I did however add a couple of pictures that show what stores and restaurants are in the complex. In regards to pricing of products the items that I did see and know a little bit about did not seem to be priced all that great. As I’m writing this my wife is over my shoulder giving me crap telling me I don’t know anything about pricing so I guess you’ll have to go check it out for yourself. San Clemente Outlets San Clemente Outlets If I was to pick the biggest negative for me it would be the lack of restaurants and overall fun vibe of the place. It would have been cool to have an outdoor sports bar or two. I would have enjoyed having a beer and some good food while meeting some new people. Will I go back again? I am sure I will at some point, especially on a nice day when the whole family can go for a nice relaxing walk.
Pier Bowl
The Pier  Bowl in San Clemente is still a Hidden Gem in the southern California beach life. Whether it's relaxation, surfing, shopping or night life,  the pier Bowl has it all. The reason it's called the Pier bowl is its shaped like a bowl haha. Do you like wine and restaurants? Well Del Mar St  has all of that covered. Amazing restaurants like Nicks, beachfire, South of Nicks, pizza port, the cellar and many many more are all found in the Pier Bowl . If you're looking for more of the bar scene we have the triangle with Dukes, Ole's, Goodys and the Red  Fox  Lounge . Another great thing that people don't realize is many  restaurants in the pier Bowl do not have a corkage fee.  That  saves you $50 depending on how much you're willing to pay for a wine bottle. Personally,  I think Nick's is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time or be willing to wait one hour or more almost every night of the week. If you like pizza,  pizza port is always a great go-to in the pier Bowl . Great  pepperoni pizza and an awesome craft  beer selection. We have also discovered Constantinople pizza down by the pier,  across the road from the tracks. The crust is light and Airy and our personal favorite is the whitewash Pizza. Surfing is also a big hit down by the pier bowl. Just be aware that the surfing spot is beside the pier to the right when you're looking at the the summer when it's busy the lifeguards really enforce this. Love Sunday morning brunch? Well I have the spot for you in the pier bowl.   Fisherman's is a beautiful restaurant on the pier with $8 bottles of champagne,  Yes I said $8. Bring your family split breakfast, watch the ocean and surfers and have mimosas at the pier Bowl.  If you're looking to purchase a home in the pier bowl,  look no further than "the Daniel team."  We live and work in the pier bowl and love it. We have over 20 years experience and are licensed in both real estate sales and appraising. Put our expertise to work and let us help you find your dream home or condo in one of the real gems still relatively unknown in the Southern California Beach Community.  We also have a Facebook group called Pier Bowl vibes. Please search it and join. We try and keep everybody updated on Happy Hours events and other things generally happening in the pier bowl.  You ever have any questions about anything going on in the parable please give us a call we'd be glad to help you out especially if you're just in for a vacation. Will point you in the right direction of things to do places to eat and things to try in the pier bowl.
Las Ramblas Hiking Trail
Today I took my Canadian parents to Las Rambles Hiking Trail in San Juan Capistrano. Las Ramblas Hiking TrailI have to say that I highly recommend these trails. It’s a good workout and the bonus is the gorgeous views of San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, and ocean. A couple things to be aware of are if you use Google Maps for directions it takes you to the park on Camino Las Rambles which is also nice but not where the hiking trails are. If you want to get to the hiking trails you need to go to the end of Camino Las Rambles where it dead ends and that is where the hiking trails begin.Las Ramblas Hiking Trail There are parts of the Las Ramblas Hiking Trail that can be pretty advanced and you are basically walking at a 45 degree angle. But there are also many parts of the trail that are easily walkable for the beginner or intermediate hiker. If you like mountain biking these trail seemed to go on forever. Miles and miles of biking trails would make this a very enjoyable weekend bike ride. The trail is also a dog friendly so go ahead and bring your dogs they will love it.
